The San Xavier pattern, derives its name from the pattern painted on the inside walls of the historic mission, located outside of the city of Tucson. Sometimes called the Dove of the Desert, the mission is one of America’s oldest landmarks. The inside facade of the mission is coated in brightly painted geometric motif, thought to be a mix of Moorish, Byzantine and Mexican influence. While the  pattern painted on the wall is a vibrant mix of oxblood red, royal blue and golden ocher, we have tried the pattern in a dozen different varieties. We find each one enjoyable to make! This pattern can be completed in as little as 2 colors but can also be expand to multiple, depending on you desire.
Available in the following options:

  • 18x18 pattern on Monk’s cloth
  • 12x12 pattern on Monk’s cloth
  • 4x4 pattern on Monk’s cloth
  • 4x4 pattern on Weaver’s cloth
